Vampire Survivors

Vampire Survivors Gameplay Guide, Character Tier Lists, Weapons and Power-Ups:

I collaborated with a group of friends to create this guide while playing the game for the first time. We shared videos through Discord, kept track of our stats, and exchanged stories. It was a highly enjoyable experience, and I’m eagerly anticipating the forthcoming updates to this fantastic game.

Some notes before we start:

  • This guide is for Early Access v0.2.7e
  • This guide contains spoilers. I didn’t hide the spoilers like I should because the formatting messes up my tables. If you want to experience the game first hand, stop reading. Go play instead!

Vampire Survivors Gameplay Guide Tips for beginners:

  • Playing with a game controller has many advantages. Tilt the joystick halfway to walk slowly. Moving slowly is often safer than moving fast. The keyboard allows you to move at full speed in 8 directions.
  • Destroy torches to drop gold, food (+30 HP), or a special pickup. Explore the map to find torches, especially if you’re low on HP.
  • Don’t worry about leaving some experience gems on the floor. If you destroy flares, they will eventually drop a vacuum pickup that sucks up all the experience.
  • There is a pickup that freezes enemies. It also prevents them from doing damage. Don’t be afraid to push into a crowd of enemies while they are frozen.
  • Every few minutes the game will spawn a boss. Kill them to drop a treasure chest that yields between 1 and 5 random upgrades and a generous sum of gold.
  • Don’t underestimate happiness. Upgrade your luck stats and you might see epic treasure chests and bigger bags of gold.
  • Don’t be afraid to experiment. The lower level weapons are actually the most fun.

Vampire Survivors Weapons:

It’s important to note that the list of unlocks for Vampire Survivors doesn’t include weapon evolutions and unions. This is because evolving a weapon only once doesn’t add its evolution to the pool of items that players can choose from as they progress in the game. Fans of bullet hell games will need to upgrade their weapons during each run if they want to access their potent effects.

It’s worth mentioning that in Vampire Survivors, the hyper versions of stages increase the speed of both the player character and the enemies. Some fans of indie games believe that these modifications actually reduce the game’s difficulty level.
