Hunt for chinchompas (200k-1m/hr)
In Old School RuneScape (OSRS), there are three different types of chinchompas that players can hunt. These include:
- Gray Chincompas – Level 53
- Red Chincompas – Level 63
- Black Chincompas – Level 73
Players commonly use the first two levels of chinchompas to train their Ranged skill, while black chinchompas are primarily used for dealing high AoE damage on certain bosses, making them in high demand.
To catch chinchompas, players need to set traps and the higher their Hunter level, the more traps they can set at once and the faster they can catch them. Your hourly rates will vary depending on your level.
Red chinchompas are often heavily botted, which means it’s recommended that players complete the Western Provinces hard diary to gain access to their own hunting spot. On the other hand, black chinchompas are located deep in the wilderness, making it necessary for players to bring teleports and supplies to escape PKers and bank their loot.
Runecraft (200k-1.5m/hr)
Runecrafting is often considered one of the most monotonous and time-consuming skills to train in OSRS. However, it remains a great source of income for many players. Starting with nature, law, or death runes in the lower levels through the abyss can earn you anywhere from 300k-500k/hr, which may seem low for such a lengthy skill, but it only gets better at higher levels.
At level 82, you unlock the ability to craft double Astral runes and can earn up to 1 million per hour. At level 91, you can make double nature runes, which will increase your hourly rate to 1.3 million. But, if you are a true Runecrafting master at level 99, double Death runes can earn you as much as 1.3 million per hour.
Moreover, Runecrafting at level 95 allows you to craft Wrath runes, a new addition to OSRS. These runes are in high demand among PKers, making them valuable in the market. You can make up to 1.7 million per hour with maximum attention, making it a great way to earn gold in OSRS. Don’t forget to check out the Runecrafting guide for more tips and tricks to master this skill.
Battles:
Vorkath (2m-3.5m/hr)
By far the most consistent way to monetize OSRS right now is to kill the boss Vorkath. It requires completion of the Dragon Slayer II quest and some high Ranged and Defense levels to effectively perform this method.
High-performance PvM (1m-3.5m/hr)
To provide some variation in methods in this guide, here’s a list of many bosses and monsters that can be killed for a big win:
- Cerberus
- Raids 1 & 2
- alchemical hydra
- demonic gorillas
- Abyssal Sire
- Zulrah
- GWD bosses
- Bosses in the wilderness
- Thermonuclear Smoke Devil
Wheelbarrows (500k-1m/hr)
Barrows items are highly sought after in OSRS as they offer a significant defensive boost to any account with a Defense level of up to 70. While some players may think they are expensive, the individual pieces are relatively affordable, making them a popular choice for players who want to improve their defensive capabilities. Additionally, each full set of Barrows armor provides a unique set bonus that can be useful in both PvP and PvM scenarios.
One of the benefits of Barrows armor is that it can be used at relatively low levels. If you have the right stats, you can start doing Barrows runs early on in your gameplay. However, to do so effectively, you will need a few key items. These include a decent magic spell, prayers for overhead protection, and a good melee weapon. We recommend using a Dragon or better weapon for the best results.
It’s important to note that each piece of Barrows armor has its own set of unique effects. For example, the Dharok’s set increases your damage as your health decreases, while the Guthan’s set provides healing during combat. By equipping the full set of any given Barrows armor, you can unlock these special bonuses and gain a significant advantage in combat.
As with any high-value items, Barrows armor sets are always in high demand. Whether you’re looking to buy or sell them, it’s essential to stay up-to-date with the current market prices. By doing so, you can ensure that you’re getting the best possible deal when you buy or sell Barrows armor.
Kill green dragons (300k-400k/hr)
Green Dragons are a classic and lucrative way to earn gold in Old School RuneScape. These dragons can be found in level 13 of the Wilderness, which means players must be prepared to face Player Killers (PKers) who may try to attack them. As a precaution, it’s recommended that players bring some cheap gear to wear, so they don’t risk losing expensive items. Additionally, it is a good idea to carry a one-click teleport method, such as a teleport tablet, to escape danger.
Killing Green Dragons provides players with Dragon bones, which are in high demand as they are a key component in training prayer skills. These bones are almost always worth a few thousand coins, making them an excellent source of income. Moreover, the dragon skins can also be sold for a considerable amount of money.
It is important to note that when players encounter a PKer, it’s crucial to remain calm and composed. If players see someone in magical gear running towards them, it is safe to assume that they are teleblocking and preparing to attack. In such situations, players should immediately click on their teleport tablet to escape before the PKer has a chance to attack them.
Overall, Green Dragons are a great way to earn gold in the game, but it is essential to be cautious while hunting them. With the right gear and tactics, players can earn a significant amount of money while minimizing the risks of facing PKers.
AFK:
Cutting Magic Tribes (100k-130k/hr)
From level 75 Woodcutting you can cut magical trees. With access to the Woodcutting Guild, you can find many of these trees conveniently located next to a bench. You will see a higher profit around level 90 Woodcutting, but this is an incredibly simple task that works great for AFKing or mobile money making.
Cooking Karambwan & Dark Crabs (150k-250k/hr)
You can start cooking Karambwan as early as level 30, but because of the burn rate, your gains will be much higher at higher cooking levels. If you are not yet 99 Cooking, it is important to also purchase a pair of Cooking gloves.
Cooking is a decent AFK skill that can be done without moving your character. Using the Rogue’s Den, you can stand right next to a banker and a permanent fire. Using banking options, you can set your items to be withdrawn and deposited with one click.
Catching dark crabs (250k-350k/hr)
Revised: If you are looking for an excellent AFK method to earn some OSRS gold, fishing Dark crabs is a great option. With a high requirement of 95 Pisces, this method is one of the best AFK methods available in the game. Even though it requires minimal effort, it can yield more gold than many other methods in the game.
However, there is a small risk involved in this method. Dark crabs are caught in the wilderness, deep within the resource area. In order to avoid the hassle of banking, you need to bring some cash to note your Dark crabs by talking to the NPC named Piles. It is highly recommended that you bring cheap defensive armor and a slash weapon to help you cut through webs and escape from potential PKers.
Moreover, Dark crabs are highly in demand among players who are training their combat skills, which makes it one of the most profitable fish to catch in the game. The Dark crab is currently worth around 1,000 gold each, which makes it one of the highest paying fish in the game. Additionally, it can be cooked into a Dark crab meat, which is used in high-level combat potions.
It is also worth noting that as you level up, you will be able to catch Dark crabs much more quickly, which means you will be able to catch more fish per hour. This, in turn, can significantly increase your hourly profit. So, if you are looking for an easy AFK method to earn some OSRS gold and don’t mind the small risk involved, then Dark crab fishing could be the perfect method for you.
